The Estate Management Section continues to encourage the involvement of Resident Groups in the management of their estates. The Estate Officers hold regular meetings with constituted Residents Committees of their respective areas to keep them informed of any developments for their area, by any of the Council Departments, and to seek their views or concerns on these developments.
Training and information is also available to assist groups in becoming involved and to participate even more in the Estate Management initiative.
In order to provide a continued commitment to customer services, pre- tenancy courses are run for prospective new tenants to South Dublin County Council.
An appraisal of housing stock through an extensive field survey was carried out in the following estates: Cushlawn, Moorfield and Quarryvale.
In conjuction with local residents this section also prepares and organises environmental work programmes for the various estates. Residents are encouraged to enter the Tidy Districts Competition.
The Estate Management Section provides an effective forum in communicating the views of all parties involved in the day to day management of this local authoritys housing estates, and will continue to develop the Programme in order to fully integrate the legitimate concerns of all our tenants, in a strategic manner, in the delivery of all housing services.
